Frassaï Dormir al Sol

In today’s rapidly evolving fragrance world, it can be daunting and overwhelming to stay updated with the latest launches, especially when they are too often promoted with mind-numbing marketing. Frassaï’s answer to this relentless pace is taking the time to pause and refresh the senses by indulging in fragrances that help us reconnect with nature, our communities, and the joy of slow living.

Founded by Natalia Outeda in 2013, Frassaï welcomes fragrance enthusiasts to explore the luxury of slow perfume through fragrances that celebrate the scents, colors, and culture of South America, with special attention to Argentina, Natalia’s native country.

In line with these concepts, Dormir al Sol (meaning “Asleep in the Sun”), the brand’s latest release created by perfumer, Irina Burlakova, calls us to rest and savor the present, as we relax and take the time to think and dream on a sunny afternoon.

In Dormir al Sol, golden notes blend to create a shimmering effect. I can immediately smell the saffron, which lends light leathery vibes, and the mimosa, which comes through as solar and nectarous. Here, the mimosa texture isn’t light and airy, like the fuzzy pom poms springtime, but thick and substantial, hinting at the transition from summer to autumn. Imagine lying and napping under a tree on an early fall afternoon. The air is warm and still, with a slight heaviness to it. As time goes by, the fragrance shifts, turning fresher, much like the air itself, as the breeze carries the scent of the wood and golden leaves. The woody notes come through along with the patchouli as the fragrance settles, like darkness sets when the sun goes down.

Dormir al Sol notes:

TOP NOTES: Lime, Mandarin, Forest pepper pure jungle essence*

HEART NOTES: Mimosa absolute, Brandy pure jungle essence, Guaiac wood Gran Chaco

BASE NOTES: Vetiver Bourbon, Patchouli Gayo, Saffron
