My blog turned 6 months old this month, so I thought I’d celebrate this little milestone by highlighting five fragrances I love.
It wasn’t easy to only pick five and there are, of course, many more fragrances I love.
However, I selected these because I enjoyed them at first sniff and I love them just the same as I keep wearing them. Also, they all evoke very distinct images, colors, and textures, as well as moods and sensations. Finally, I would definitely purchase each one again (I already have backups for some of them).
They’re all very different from one another, but equally inspirational.
Zoologist Nightingale. Reminiscent of old-fashioned chypre fragrances, this scent nicely balances juicy and powdery notes. Combining spring blossom brightness with a boudoir flair, this graceful creature is dainty, original, and sophisticated. (Read the full review here)
Papillon Tobacco Rose. Imperious and majestic, this is my favorite rose scent. It lusciously embodies a red rose in its entirety – fleshy petals, stems, thorns, along with hints of the mineral soil that nurtured it. Beeswax, hay, oak moss, and ambergris convey depth and earthiness. (Read the full review here)
Francesca Bianchi Under My Skin. This is a fragrance I consider voluptuous, magnetic, and tactile. It has the lightest hints of lavender and masterfully blends orris butter, balsams, ambergris, leather, and animalic notes. It is velvety cashmere, dusty cacao, and flushed human skin all at once. Jul et Mad Stilettos on Lex. This is a modern chypre fragrance centered on a lively bouquet surrounded by a juicy pear note, resting on a bed of musks, wood, and vanilla. Someone close to me mentioned this smelled a little like candy apples on me, calling to mind images of the red sugar coating, red fancy cars, and red stilettos. (Read the full review here)
Nobile 1942 Malìa. This is my witchy fragrance, a magic potion of narcotic fruits and sweet osmanthus flowers that beautifully blend with mysterious spices and herbs, and earthy pinches. It has both bright and obscure qualities. I have dedicated this to all outspoken and unconventional women. (Read the full review here)
I’d love to thank everyone for reading and for connecting with me!
